Tango 02 brings Argentine tango music alive with a combination of instruments very close to the traditional “orquesta típica” that are so typical of Buenos Aires.

Their repertoire includes a broad range of dance music.

Alongside tango music, their repertoire also comprise city milongas (milonga ciudadana) as well as country milongas (milonga campera) and can be expanded on demand to a series of sung tango pieces, for which the band then includes Argentine singers such as Fabian Tibaldi or Juan Masondo.


Tango 02 started under the name Oblivion at the Vrije Universiteit Brussel fall 1996 by Patrick Vankeirsbilck, Bandoneonplayer and leader. De group started to play often and in 1999 they took apart of "Mano Mundo" Festival in Boom.
From then they played numurous tangosalons, Antwerpen (Café Local, plezAntwerpen), Brussels (Het Volkshuis, La Ilusión,...), Brugge (Benenwerk - Cactus), Hasselt,... het tangofestival from Nîmes in Frankrijk.
